Marketing Tip of the Week: Optimize Your Website for Today's High Tech Buyer [Video]

MTOTW #51: In manufacturing in the U.S., nearly 40% of the workforce is up for retirement in the next few years. The next generation of technicians and engineers has different buying behaviors, which will likely affect how you sell to them.

When it comes to online marketing, there are a few things today’s customers expect from your website:

  • Provide multiple ways to engage – for instance a phone number, a contact form, and a chat feature. Also display social media links so people can connect with you on those platforms.
  • Simplify your navigation. If you still have a “Home” tab in your website menu, drop it. A hyperlinked logo is enough to direct people back to your homepage.
  • Optimize for search. Many of your web visitors will enter your site through pages other than your homepage. Deliberate emphasis on SEO will increase qualified leads. A search widget on your site can be a user-friendly addition as well.
